Lama Land
So, I'm in Lama-land.
You know you're in Lama land when you're asked to leave a space so the Dalai Lama can pass through. 'Fair enough', I says to myself, as I am lightly prodded out the doors of the Tibetan Government In Exile HQ in McLeod Ganj so His Holiness can be escorted to the place where he will receive Tibetans and give a small talk.
I was not on the guestlist, so I went for a beer instead; and as the photo informs, Pierce Brosnan has also enjoyed a frosty mug here as well. I don't know whether to spit or scratch. So I sip; and the matter is soon forgotten in the wafts of better feelings.
It's well into the second month of my subcontinental odyssey, and the thoughts after five weeks in Varanasi have somehow collected themselves into my third volume of verse, which if you've been following closely, you will craftily suspect will bear the title Nakayubi Three: 'insert sub-title here', and you wouldn't be far wrong. The working title of the collection is called 'the unmeaning and the holy city', which i find appropriate until a better title surfaces.
For a couple of sneak previews of this new collection check the blog page, or my so-far failed attempt at encouraging dialogue about my presumably obtuse rambling on my 'writer' page over on Arsebook. here's the link:
