Big addition to the shop,
a very limited run (like, 20) of baby blue HolloDeMilo T-shirts have been printed and are up for grabs. There are literally only 3 of the black ones left (Dave told me himself, so I'll take his word for it...).
For this shirt, there are medium and large sizes available, which are typical of M and L in the western world. I mention this because I can't keep my other secret any longer...the designs Dave did for Yan De Hafuri will be released in their Spring/Sumer line next month. We are working to make the results of this collaborative fusion of art and fashion available on this site, aside from the boutique in Harajuku, Tokyo; and in that case, the clothes will be catering to the Tokyo market, and thus Japanese sizes will apply. We will post sizing info as necessary.
Dave is off haggling with the printers as I write this, I think he left his place with a big bag of shirts in other cool colours...we'll have to wait and see. If you snatch up all the blue ones, there may be another colour'd HolloDeMilo in the future.
Ok, that's my bit for the day.
Peace,
Ernie V.
p.s. here's a message from Dave regarding his literary endeavours:
Word up Cameo,
A personal sigh of relief and and a grin of moderate pride and cautious optimism for the fact that :
Kusuriyubi One:
Fun with memes! is now complete and Dr. Heagney has given the final seal of editorial consent.
Everything has been finalized, the book has jumped the needed hurtles, and has officially been released. Now available almost exclusively in the shop of this site. Whoopee. Why not pick one up today to read into unsuspecting, sleeping ears just to see what kind of dreams it will generate? That would work well for the poetry book as well I should think...
Your support for my thankless, lonely stabs at all these mediums is sincerely appreciated. Thanks to everyone who has shown their support by buying a shirt, a book, or a print. I thought I'd have to go and sell peanuts in the market there just last week...
aside from the prose:
Nakayubi One:
the cynic, the critic, the masochistic anemic is available for any beatnik, coffee house, woolen sweater, french cigarette, goatee'd proclivities you may feel the urge to satiate with poetry. First reviews are in, see the shop...
Of this one, Dr. Heagney says: "The rhyming structure reminded me of Beck lyrics, but unlike the dada of the cut and paste technique, there is meaning behind the madness."
So there.
All proceeds will go to keeping me alive to write another one.
Watch for Dr. Heagney's own foray into rhythmic word-verse in the near future. Still working on legal clearance to publish it ourselves. I'ts called "points around a line", it's background and theme is described in part in Kusuriyubi One. So pick up a copy of that and get acquainted with the man himself and our legendary exploits together.
Keep this under your hat, but Dr. Heagney will be arriving in Chiang Mai next week, on another of his many university grants (me having attained field assistant status for this mission), whereupon we will stealth our way through Burma (surely not stopping in on Aung Sang Suu Kyi for dinner) in search of the ancient Alchemists of Bagan and their cosmological knowledge that keeps celestial time by the spires of the Astro-temples...
I reckon that will probably end up being the first chapter of Kusuriyubi Two...
swoon,
dave.
